Zermatt is surrounded by amazing mountains, the most popular one certainly is the Matterhorn. With the 3 big ski-areas it offers fantastic and varied skiing. In summer there are many very interesting hiking paths and also climbers and bikers aren't left out either.

Zermatt is a car-free resort. Access for private transport is only allowed as far as Täsch (5km from Zermatt). The road from Täsch to Zermatt is not open to public transport. There are open-air car parks and covered car parks in Täsch. Some car parks operate a taxi service to and from Zermatt. Shuttle trains operated by the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway run every 20 minutes.

The completely renovated (2008) House Matterhorngruss is situated in the quarter of Steinmatten is only 5 minutes walk from the railway and the center.

A rustic apartment block with every comfort. With studios, two and three-roomed apartments. Very central to the village and transport.Skiroom with shoeheater in the basement of the house. You can use the washing machine in house Abacus (next to House Matterhorngruss).
